Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 1, 2025

We care about your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect on RemoteKoala.com, why we collect it, how we use it, and how we protect it. By using our website or signing up for any of our services and/or resources, you agree to this policy.

Remote Koala is a talent platform designed to help remote and work-from-home professionals stand out in a crowded, global market. At this time, we collect basic information from users who want to be notified when we launch.

If you have questions about this policy, please email: privacy@remotekoala.com

We collect only the information you voluntarily provide:

  • First name
  • Email address
  • Any messages or feedback you submit to us
  • IP address and anonymized usage data (via analytics)

We do not ask for resumes, passwords, payment details, or any sensitive personal identifiers.

We use the information you provide to:

  • Add you to our early access list
  • Send occasional updates about our launch
  • Let you know when it’s time to create your full Remote Koala profile
  • Understand where our users are based

We do not sell or share your personal information, as defined under applicable laws.

Our legal basis for collecting your data is your consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time via the “Unsubscribe” link in emails or by contacting us directly.

We take data protection seriously. Your information is securely stored using reputable services and tools.

  • Email communication is managed through Kit.com (formerly ConvertKit) or similar privacy-conscious platforms
  • We use a variety of Google services — including Google Analytics (with IP anonymization), Google Search Console, and Google Tag Manager — to understand site performance and user behavior in an anonymized way
  • The site is protected using HTTPS and standard encryption measures
  • Hosting and CDN services (e.g., Cloudflare) may temporarily process your data for performance and security

We retain your data only as long as needed:

  • Email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or request deletion
  • Inactive records may be automatically removed after 36 months
  • You can request deletion at any time by emailing: privacy@remotekoala.com

Some tools we use process data outside your home country. By using our website and/or our services, you consent to the transfer and secure storage of your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

We take reasonable steps to ensure your data is protected, no matter where it is processed.

We use trusted services to operate our website and communications. These tools may process limited personal data (such as your email address) on our behalf:

  • Kit – Manages newsletter subscriptions and email delivery. Stores subscriber email addresses and names (if provided).
  • Google Services – Provides anonymized traffic and usage insights via Google Analytics (with IP anonymization), Google Tag Manager, and Google Search Console.
  • Cloudflare or hosting providers – Improves site security and performance.
  • WP Legal Pages – Provides our cookie consent banner and preferences tool.

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy and security commitments.

You have the right to know how your personal information is used — and to stay in control of it. You may at any time:

  • Access the personal data we have about you
  • Correct or update inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your data from our systems
  • Withdraw your consent to receive marketing communications
  • Ask how your data is stored, used, or shared

California Residents: If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to request:

  • The categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you
  • The sources of that information
  • The purposes for which we collect or share that information
  • The categories of third parties with whom we share your information

You also have the right to request that we do not “sell” or “share” your personal information, as defined by California law. We do not sell personal information in exchange for money; however, some analytics and advertising tools we use may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” under the law. You can opt out of such data sharing by adjusting your cookie settings here: Cookie Settings.

We believe privacy is a basic right. These controls are available to everyone. To make a request, email us at privacy@remotekoala.com with the subject line: “Privacy Request”.

We aim to respond to all privacy-related inquiries within 30 days.

Remote Koala is currently open for early access sign-ups from most countries. However, residents of the following regions may experience limited access to certain features:

  • The European Union (EU)
  • The European Economic Area (EEA)
  • The United Kingdom (UK)
  • Switzerland

If you’re signing up from one of these regions, please note that you may join the waitlist, but you won’t be able to access the Fit Discovery Tool or full profile features until further notice. This limitation is temporary and due to additional compliance requirements under privacy laws like GDPR and UK-GDPR.

We’re working toward future compliance and hope to offer full access in these regions soon.

By joining our early access list, you agree to receive:

  • Launch announcements
  • Product updates
  • Occasional behind-the-scenes previews

Every email we send includes an “Unsubscribe link”. You can opt out at any time. Even if you unsubscribe from marketing emails, we may still contact you with essential updates (e.g. profile activation or confirmation notices).
